About Us
In December 2009 the three of us, that is
Csaba Besenyei (Big Fat Chubby And The Swamp Busters),
Szabolcs Nagy (Ripoff Raskolnikov, Big Daddy Wilson),
Csaba Pengő (Muddy Shoes, ex Pribojszki Band)
finally made up our minds to get together and call ourselves a trio.
Although we have worked, individually and together, in a variety of formations, playing the more important festivals in most European countries, we never had a band of our own, so we took a deep breath and founded this one.
Covering a wide repertoire consisting of everything from original compositions to world hits we are trying to explore the possibilities set by our somewhat unusually sparse line-up of mouth-organ, piano, double bass and vocal.

Csaba Besenyei - vocal, harmonica
Has been a harmonica player as well as a blues and country singer since age 15. In 1995, he moved from his home town of Eger in Central Hungary to Budapest, where he became a founding member of such formations as Pawn Shop, Salty Dog ,or the Jugging Stones.
He played in a duo with Budapest’s blues pioneer Jenö Fekete for many years, and can be heard on recordings by the Hobo Blues Band and Little G.Weevil.
Besides his work with the Village Lizards, Csaba’s main project is Big Fat Chubby…. , a band playing Texas-style redneck truck-driver’s country music.
Szabolcs Nagy - piano
Studied composition at the Budapest Academy of Music from 1988 to 1994. After taking his diploma. He taught for 4 years at the conservatoire in Szeged, southern Hungary.
He spent 8 years as a member of the Hobo Blues Band, co-writing a lot of the material for Hobo’s well-acclaimed theatre shows. Szabolcs has been heard at a quantity of international festivals, often enough sharing a stage with such celebrities as the Holmes Brothers, Sugar Blue, or Louisiana Red.
He also works regularly with Ripoff Raskolnikov, Big Daddy Wilson, Ian Siegal and the Braindogs, the Muddy Shoes and Angela Poka, and has released 2 solo CDs.
Since 2009, he has been a regular member of Ghymes and Pusztaszo, two of Hungary’s biggest names in ethnic music.
Csaba Pengő - double bass
Completed music school in Bekescsaba, eastern Hungary, and graduated from the Budapest music university’s jazz department.
As a member of the Muddy Shoes as well as the Pribojszki Band he has played Europe’s most renowned blues festivals. He has also worked with such greats as Louisiana Red or Sugar Blue.
He is a regular member of both Pusztaszo and the Orosz Zoltan Band.
